There are rare cases in which material may be used in the reading room, but by terms of the contract or deed of gift, copies may not be made. In addition to the appropriate notes in the finding aid and catalog record, these restrictions must be clearly noted on the container(s) for the material, on a separate label reading “This material may not be duplicated.”
