There are currently five individual databases that loosely comprise the Beinecke Digital Library (DL). All updates are done by the Digital Services Unit.

DIG.tba: Available through the DL’s primary search box. This is the official database for the majority of metadata found in the DL. (Contact: Head of Digital Services)

Photoneg.tba: now obsolete. Photonegative scans are available through the DL’s primary search box. This is essentially an archive of metadata for photo negatives from Access Services’s Photo Negative File, which was scanned in the mid-1990s. Data was transcribed from the sleeves on which the negatives were stored and may contain errors and inaccuracies. (Contact: Head of Digital Services)

Marinetti: Available through the DL’s primary search box, this is a collection of 10,705 digitized 35 mm slides taken from a microfilm of F. T.Marinetti’s seven Libroni or scrapbooks, compiled between 1905 and 1944. The slides were acquired by the Beinecke Library in 1999, along with a detailed listing. The Libroni database contains bibliographic errors, items lacking description, and image legibility and sequencing problems. The work of data correction, image sequencing, and image quality control is ongoing. (Contact: Head of Digital Services or Manuscript Unit Head)

Cary Playing Card Database: A stand-alone database, not included through the DL’s primary search box, is based on A catalogue of the Cary Collection of Playing Cards in the Yale University Library by William B. Keller. (New Haven: Yale University Library, 1981). This is primarily a text database with digital images of sample cards being added over time. Papyrus Database: A stand-alone database, not included through the DL’s primary search box. The Papyrus Database includes links to digital images of the majority of the Library’s papyri holdings. (Contact: Head of Digital Services or Curator of Early Books and Manuscripts)
