9.8 Correcting Finding Aids

To maintain consistent practice, and to avoid confusion for staff and researchers, corrections to a finding aid should be made in conformity with the format of that finding aid, unless a conscious decision is made to upgrade the entire finding aid to current standards. (As this can be a very time consuming proposition, and may require review of materials themselves, this should be undertaken only when absolutely necessary, or as part of a systematic review and upgrading of files generally.)
