If the microfilm should not be used as a reference copy, update as above, but add a further note in the Notes field: “DO NOT USE: Microfilm does not reflect current arrangement.” Example: “Formerly Uncat MS Vault 715. DO NOT USE: Microfilm does not reflect current arrangement. ECD, 2009 Mar 12.”
In either case, do not change the film number, which remains constant regardless of the film’s status. If you have any questions about specific records as you update them, consult with Access Services staff.
